What Does $29.95 Per Month Buy?
Well, I like to think you'll get your money's worth and then some for your $29.95. But there are, of course, some limits to what I can and will do for $29.95 per month. I can't take on a project that is going to tie up hours upon hours of time to pull off. There are minimum wage laws after all and I am trying to provide for my family with this freelance work. I can't afford to become a charity. So, no, I won't be able to build you the next Ebay, or MySpace or Second Life for $29.95 per month. I don't create Flash or other graphic animations. For that kind of stuff you'll need to hire a Graphic Designer. But if you have them already I can certainly add them to your website for you.
What I will do is build you a nice, attractive and informational website to get your product, service or organization's message across with contact info for you and basic low-maintenance features. I will submit your site to the major search engines and make sure that ads for your site and it's message are posted regularly in places on the internet that will drive people your way. I will make updates to your site as needed on a reasonable schedule. By a reasonable schedule I mean adding or changing a few paragraphs of text now and then, updating contact info if needed and things along those lines. I can't maitain an online catalog for a retail outlet with thousands of products on a daily basis at $29.95 per month. I intend to be fair with you and provide you good value for your $29.95 per month and all I ask is the same in return. If the demands of your project become too time consuming though we will have to renegotiate our business arrangement or I might be able to recommend someone better equipped to suit your needs.

Basically what it boils down to is if you have realistic expectations about how your business or organization can benefit from a nicely built, basic website that can be easily found and is well promoted on the internet I can help you. If you are looking to build an internet based business from the ground up or an online retail outlet with constantly changing inventory I'm probably not your guy.
I already know how to build and promote websites so I don't require your services. Do you need me to call or email you and let you know that?
*chuckle* Yes, I really did need to add that to the Frequently Asked Questions list. It seems a lot of people want me to know they know their stuff when it comes to web design and internet marketing. But, no, it's really not neccessary for every person on the internet who already knows the ins and outs of this stuff to let me know of their existence. I already know about all of you guys and gals... Really and truly I do. Okay, maybe not you personally but quite a few of ya'll anyway. LOL! My target market is the rest of the world out there who are in business doing other things besides being on the internet but who want to reach people on the internet to do business with them. People who, for example, run swimming pool companies, solar screen companies, sell insurance, run community centers and dance studios, etc. and those are the things they know about. These people know their businesses really well but might not know the internet as thoroughly as some of us who have spent many hours over several years tinkering and learning. They need folks like me and probably all of you others out there who know the internet and my niche is helping those folks out. So please, if you don't need my services, that's all well and good but it's not neccessary to inform me of this. It is no great revelation to me I assure you. ;-)
Do you expect to get rich doing this?
No, I don't think I'm in any danger of becoming the next Bill Gates. ;-) I look at this little freelance, side enterprise as something akin to the landscaping services or house cleaning services some people employ. Sure, it's not exactly rocket science and there are some people (but not all) who can do what I do themselves but it can be time consuming and tedious and their busy schedules already put great demands on their time to do other things. So, they pay me and I take care of it for them. When they have something new to put out on the internet they pick up the phone and call me or shoot me an email and say, "Hey Troy, I have this new so-and-so thing going on and I need to let people know about it. Take care of it for me." Then that's it, I'm on it and they don't have to put any more time and effort into it. They are free to go about the business of running their business. It's as simple as that. That's how I like to keep things. Plain, simple and low cost. I'm not looking to take on any big, complicated projects or build the next great killer app for the web. I'm happy just making a few extra bucks here and there, supporting my family and helping them to support theirs too by promoting what they have going on.
