Hi! I'm Troy Young, a regular guy (Well, sort of anyway.) who likes to go camping with his family and friends, enjoys music and computers and lives in Arlington, Texas. I do freelance web design and internet marketing work for small, usually locally owned businesses, individuals and organizations. I enjoy working with family owned enterprises. All of the sites I currently work with are owned by people I know personally through working with them or interacting with them socially. I like to create a presence for them on the internet that is an extension of their presence in person. Instead of interacting with a nameless, faceless site on the internet that looks like it was put together by a bunch of people with degrees in advertising I prefer a more human approach. I like to utilize an online version of word of mouth advertising when promoting my client's sites so that instead of the spammers' approach of coming into a crowded room and shouting something completely unrelated to the topic at hand and leaving I am passing the word on to someone who actually asked or showed some potential of being interested in knowing about whoever I am telling them about. Also, because these are people I usually actually know and have a personal interaction with I feel confident in telling others about them and what they do.
That's also a part of why I tell so much of my life story on the Blog up there. I am a fairly open book. There is a lot about me out there on the internet. Well, except credit card info and social security numbers. I'm not that crazy! But my point is, I am a human being with thoughts, ideas, hopes and dreams just like every one of my clients and I like to convey that as much as possible to the people I deal with on a day to day basis. All too often we get caught up in the perception of anonymity on the internet and forget that at the end of that keyboard on the other side of cyberspace is another human being. A person we share this world with and we are connected to in some way through the web of life.
I also enjoy promoting things which are environmentally responsible because I am a big fan of this planet we live on and would like to pass it on to my children and grandchildren as well as yours with as much of it's natural beauty and livability still intact as possible. So I prefer to work for clients who share a socially and environmentally conscious point of view.
